WEST HOLLYWOOD, CA – 2020
The project is 17 units on the East side of West Hollywood. The Urban Fabric is becoming more dense in R3 districts, and we hoped to keep much of the indoor-outdoor feeling present in many early Los Angeles homes.
The client wished to create a community around a central courtyard, both to foster a sense of community as well as increase cross ventilation and exposure to light. Windows have deep eaves to shield the glass from late afternoon sun. All units are duplexes with a private garden – all front doors are either on the first floor or the 4th.
The gardens are drought-resistant, and the project incorporates affordable and accessible units.
