This home is located in the Norma Triangle district of West Hollywood, where lots are small and privacy is a primary concern.  The goal was to create a sense of openness by alternating large and small spaces, always with views through and beyond.

The house is close to Santa Monica boulevard, and this street is very social – neighbors often gather together for cocktails on the “porch” – so we created a shaded entry courtyard in order to take advantage of the street frontage and the neighborhood life. The interior spaces are connected vertically by a 3 story metal and wood stairway which brings an industrial element into the white interior.  With the basement, the house is over 4,000 SF – the basement houses a bedroom, gym, screening room and living room.

Most of the windows are high rectangles to preserve the privacy of the neighbors while still allowing light to enter from all sides.

Every bedroom has a private balcony or patio and private bath.  Construction was completed in 2019.
