The project is 4 Units on a corner at the southern edge of West Hollywood, close to the Fairfax shopping district.  Because of the increased visibility of the corner site, we created a richly textured facade which wraps around, with living spaces at street level for both the end units.  All units have direct access to the public sidewalk.

The site does not sit in the shadow of any other building, so we worked to create screen systems which shade the southern exposure.  The upper level has a tremendous amount of glass, but is shielded by panels of metal mesh. Floor plates project out over openings below to provide cover and shading.

The floor plans are characterized by stairs that wind around structure, appearing and disappearing from view.  We made deep cuts through the building volume to let light into the interior, and the roof has landscaped private decks for outdoor dining. The layering of materials was deliberately intended to be more earthy / warm at the base, and more ethereal / abstract on the top floor
